More About Scott P. Moore

Scott P. Moore is currently the Local Editor of Babylon Village Patch in Babylon Village, Long Island, New York. He has worked diligently covering local politics, an impressive business district, education, charities and sporting events since being hired by Patch.com in May 2012.

Before his current position, Moore was a Staff Reporter with The South Shore Standard, a weekly newspaper covering The Five Towns section of Southwest Nassau County on Long Island. His work there also included print reporting, redesigning the newspaper’s website, improving the social media presence of the organization and photography. Moore graduated from Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, Long Island, New York with a dual Bachelor’s in Online Journalism and American History. He was the Managing Editor of a student-run news organization, Stony Brook Independent, during his senior year at the university and was part of a select group sent to Louisiana by the School of Journalism covering the recovery of Venice, LA following both the 2011 BP Gulf Oil Spill and 2005′s disastrous Hurricane Katrina.

Moore has also previously interned with Newsday.com, manning their website to promote new content and constantly blogging about technology and game. Moore has also previously freelanced for Patch.com before his hiring and The New York Academy of Sciences Magazine.

Moore has a diverse amount of interests and skills in various areas that include meteorology, sports, technology, gaming, photography and web design. He currently resides in Lindenhurst, Long Island.
